Youth Ministry

Youth Groups

The High School group meets every other Sunday during the school year at 5:00 PM in person at the Sacred Grounds cafe .
Please reach out to Sam  to join the high school group or for more information!

The combined Middle School and 5th grade youth group meets twice a month on Fridays from 6:00-7:30p.m during the school year. Contact
Sam for future dates.

Service-Learning Trips

Each summer our youth participate in service-learning trips. In Summer, 2023 we will have two options for youth, a service trip in northern California open to entering 6th graders-high school graduates, and our once-every-four-years international trip open to entering 9th graders and older.

Holy Land Trip: Join us July 13-26, 2023 for a journey to the Holy Land. This trip is open to high school students and adults. The tour leader is Rev. Dr. Eileen Altman who has traveled to Palestine/Israel twice. Our logistical coordinator is Susan Brooksbank, an avid traveler, who has visited the Holy Land numerous times, most recently for a wedding in Bethlehem in July 2022. Her earliest trips were for business in the 1990s. She is now retired from the corporate world with her own small business and volunteers to run trips to the Holy Land. She is a member of Westhope Presbyterian Church and an ordained deacon and elder. Our on-the-ground tour guides are from Grace Tours, a Palestinian Christian tour agency.
Learn more and register on our Holy Land page. (You cannot register below for this trip).

Sierra Service Project: We will serve with Sierra Service Project June 25-July 1 in Del Norte County, CA. This trip is open to entering 6th graders-high school graduates. We will work with residents and organizations in the coastal towns of Smith River, Fort Dick, and Crescent City as well as, at times, inland in Hiouchi and Gasquet. Because Del Norte County’s poverty rate is more than 20 percent and is one of the poorest counties in the State, we work with the entire community, including some families who are tribal members. Total program cost per person is $750. Register below by March 15th!
