Stewardship of Our Church

We live in challenging times. This year has been filled with disasters, both close to us and far away. In some ways it is easy to get discouraged and to feel hopeless. It can seem so overwhelming at times.

But that is where our Church and our beliefs can play a central role. It is with anticipated joy that we attend our Sunday morning services. It is with appreciative joy that we have a Ministerial Staff which delivers thoughtful, supportive, and sincere messages each and every Sunday morning, or on demand as the case may be. It is with hopeful joy that we have the ability to offer services to people who are most in need: Hotel de Zink, Community Grants, and our other outreach programs. It is with grateful joy that we experience wonderful music programming and have the exemplary musical staff to be able to deliver it.  It is with delighted joy that we know special events such as the Spring Musical, the Bingo Chocolate Cookie Bake-off, the Easter Egg hunt and so many other activities brought to us by our church volunteers. The list goes on and on.

And for all this we are grateful. But here’s the hard part. All the activities and personnel of the church which we have come to expect and cherish need our financial support. The Stewardship Campaign, which raises funds through the church by your pledging to give, is the primary means by which we do this. In the coming weeks during the Sunday morning services we will hear from multiple church members about how the church affects their lives in very meaningful ways. It’s worth a good listen.

Stewardship for our 2023-2024 fiscal year has a special challenge. Like many of us, our staff has had to endure the financial impact of the Pandemic coupled with high inflation. We want to show them they are highly valued and are doing an exemplary job. We don’t want to lose any of them. Therefore, the church has elected to give the staff a 6.5% raise. Because of this, the Stewardship Campaign, must meet an amount which is greater than last year’s by 5%.

I am hoping, intensely, that every family will step up and support the Stewardship Campaign, to maintain and help grow our vibrant church. If you haven’t pledged before, please consider it. And if you’re already pledging, please consider increasing your pledge amount. Pledging via a monthly amount helps the church plan for and allocate the funding in support of our wonderful staff and programs. All you have to do is communicate your intentions by filling out the pledge form that was mailed to you and returning it to the church or signing up on the Church’s website.

Let’s all join together to show our Church how much we value it!

Sincerely,

Rob Lenicheck
