Donor Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program, administered by a third party public charity (such as Fidelity Charitable or Schwab Charitable), that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities. DAFs are created for the purpose of managing charitable donations on behalf of an organization, family, or individual. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals. DAFs allow donors to give cash, stock, and other assets—with the donor receiving an immediate tax deduction at the time contribution is made, but can grant specified amounts to the charities of their choice at a later time.

Do you accept donations from any donor-advised fund?
  • We can accept checks from any donor-advised fund.
  • At this time, we can only accept EFTs (electronic fund transfers) from Fidelity Charitable.
How do I give to FCCPA from my donor-advised fund?
  • Call or email your fund manager to start the process, and
    • Recommend supporting First Congregational Church of Palo Alto, along with the amount of the grant,
    • Inform your fund manager if you would like to donate by check or EFT,
    • Ask your fund manager to include your name with your check or EFT and how you'd like your grant to be allocated (pledge, campaign, other).
  • Your fund manager will send a check and an EFT report directly to First Congregational Church.

Questions?
  • Email Linda Sodos, Office Manager, or call 650-388-9519 with questions.

We gather as a church, welcoming people of all abilities, backgrounds, ethnicities, and those who are LGBTQ+, to become more aware of the love of God in our lives and to make real that love in the world through worshiping, serving humanity, and seeking to follow in the ways of Jesus.
