Serve with Sierra Service Project this Summer
July 24-30, 2022
After a two-year covid hiatus, this summer we return to our Sierra Service Project (SSP) service trip! Youth entering 6th grade through 2022 high school graduates are invited to join us July 24-30 as we journey to San Diego. Serve with SSP in San Diego’s South Bay to learn about poverty, immigration, and the environment, very real concerns in the communities adjacent to the US / Mexico border. We will drive to San Diego on Sunday, July 24, serve and learn together Monday-Thursday, July 25-28, go to Disneyland on Friday, July 29, and drive back home on Saturday, July 30. Participant fees for the week are $700 (scholarships are available). Register by March 15!
Our three work days will be either with homeowners or with community based organizations. The type of work includes painting, rebuilding fences, and other general home repairs. No construction experience is needed, and you’ll be amazed at all of the work that our youth teams complete! Most projects take longer to complete than your week at SSP so you may see the beginning, middle or end of a project. On one day during the week, youth will visit Friendship Park on both sides of the US / Mexico border. Volunteers will have the opportunity to sign up for a day trip to Tijuana, or stay in the US for a day of learning and serving.
