Holy Week and Easter at FCCPA

Easter Sunday: Join us for worship on April 17 at 9:30 or 11:00 in person or on Zoom. We will have music from our choirs and a brass ensemble, a special children’s story from Clarence, a sermon from Rev. David Howell celebrating new life and new hope, and end with the congregation singing together the “Hallelujah Chorus”. At 10:30, the Deacons Board will host a special celebration social time between the two services, with drinks and treats. Stick around after the 9:30 service or come early before the 11:00 service to celebrate this joyful day with our community.

Easter Egg Hunt: On Saturday, April 16 at 9:00 a.m., our Education Board invites the young and the young at heart to an Easter Egg Hunt on our front lawn at the corner of Embarcadero and Louis. In addition to the hunt, there will be other fun activities, including parachute games, an egg relay, and face painting.

Palm Sunday: Join us at 10:00 on April 10 for Palm Sunday worship in our sanctuary or on Zoom. After the palm procession led by our children, we will have a special Sermon in Song featuring our Chancel Choir singing Schubert’s Mass in G, with reflections on the music and Holy Week from Rev. Dr. Eileen Altman.

Lenten Vespers: Our Tuesday evening Lenten Services at 7:30 conclude on April 12. Join us in the sanctuary or on our Zoom worship link for plainsong, piano meditations, readings, and prayers.

Maundy Thursday: Join us for Maundy Thursday worship at 7:30 p.m. on April 14 in our sanctuary or on Zoom. After sharing Communion, we will view art which depicts Jesus’ journey to the cross and hear reflections on the art from Kathy Terry and Rev. David Howell. Throughout the service, we will hear special music from soloists and ensembles from our congregation.

Good Friday: On Friday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m., join us in our sanctuary or on our Zoom worship link for Good Friday worship, with music from our Chancel Choir and a reading of the Passion.
